Committee of Safety 1642
Jul 4th The House of Commons established a Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom. It consisted of ten members of the House of Commons and ten members of the House of Lords.

It dealt with he day-to-day control of military supplies and became a link between the House of Commons and the Captain-General in command of all the Parliamentary land forces.

It was marked by much disagreement about strategy and the conduct of the war.
