Castle negotiate an honourable surrender with the besieging
Parliamentarian forces. Their King is in the hands of the Scots army at
Newcastle, Oxford has surrendered three days earlier. They had held out
for sixteen weeks.
Cromwell afterwards ordered the Castle to be demolished. |
