Microcomputer
A microcomputer is a computer based on a single microprocessor. 

There would only be one user at a time. 

There are few peripherals. Costs a few hundred pounds.

Microcomputers are used by small businesses, home users, schools etc...

 

Small ‘laptop’ or portable versions are available. These are built into a ‘briefcase’ - type case, are capable of running off batteries, and may be carried about.

 

Even smaller hand-held versions are available. These are called palmtop computers.
