Software Piracy
Software copyright laws state that it is illegal to make copies of software except as backups.

Breaking these laws by, for example, copying software that has been bought by someone else is called software piracy.

Licences need to be bought for extra copies of software. Licences may be...
  • single-user : it can only be used on one computer
  • multiple-user : it can be used on a specified number of computers.
  • site licence : it can be used on any computer on the site (eg a school, an company's office building)
